The Calcite has another name calcspar. Calcite is a carbonate mineral and the most stable polymorph of calcium carbonate (CaCO3). It has a Mohs hardness of 3, a specific gravity of 2.71, and its luster is vitreous in crystallized varieties. Color is white or none, though shades of gray, red, yellow, green, blue, violet, brown, or even black can occur when the mineral is charged with impurities. Calcite is transparent to opaque and may occasionally show phosphorescence or fluorescence. A transparent variety called Iceland spar is used for optical purposes.
Calcite is a common constituent of sedimentary rocks, limestone in particular, much of which is formed from the shells of dead marine organisms. Approximately 10% of sedimentary rock is limestone. Calcite is the primary mineral in metamorphic marble. It also occurs as a vein mineral in deposits from hot springs, and it occurs in caverns as stalactites and stalagmites.
Calcite has low hardness so it can be crushed by any models of stone crusher or rock crusher such as jaw crusher, hammer crusher, impact crusher, cone crusher etc. Calcium carbonate has played an important role in the concrete process and construction industry for increasing the toughness and strength of these products. The calcium carbonate final products are mainly produced by calcite powder according calcite crushing plants and grinding processing industry.
We take the calcite jaw crusher or hammer calcite crusher as the primary crushing equipment for first crushing process. Then we need cone crusher, sand making machine for secondary crushing or next processing. In recent years, the VSI crusher has applied widely as calcite crusher or calcite crushing equipment in calcite mining industry.
Our crushing plant for calcite provides smooth processing and high producing capacity. We will design the most optimized calcite crushing line for your clay processing plant according to the physical properties and input size of calcite ores, the maximum feeding size and processing capacities of crushing machines and the selected clay processing equipments.
